T.) challenge – a 2500km /1500 mile cycle and swim on the Wild Atlantic Way.The charity fundraiser came about by chance, when Pat was painting in iCARE and got a first-hand look at the work they do. He saw how the parent-led volunteer group do trojan work to support young people with autism – all on a shoestring budget. Pat was so moved that he decided to give up six weeks of his time to do a sponsored cycle for iCARE, which kicks off today in Kinsale. He is calling for the public to support his journey via a GoFundMe page here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/2500-km-cycle-for-icare-buncrana-donegalIn his own words, he wrote: “Last year a friend of mine invited me give a hand and help paint the facilities at iCARE. “During the couple of days painting I witnessed the amazing parents and volunteers working with amazing children and young people with autism but more than witnessing, I could feel the remarkable caring, understanding and love provided at the centre.“The painting was very easy. My couple of days painting were a humbling experience.“At this time I was looking at a few travel options, trip to India stuff and Woodstock stuff. Nothing in Ireland had entered the radar.“The simple truth is one morning when I awoke the idea of cycling the Wild Atlantic Way was planted in my mind. It was like catchy song that wouldn’t go stop playing.“I can’t explain where it came from but there it was, cycling the Wild Atlantic Way in aid of i. C.A.R.E.“Well, some things just have to be done!” Pat will have the Buncrana community cheering him on during the self-funded cycle, where all monies received will be donated to iCARE.If you would like to donate to the 2,500km cycle, visit: https://www.gofundme.com/f/2500-km-cycle-for-icare-buncrana-donegalPat’s P.A.T. challenge begins in aid of autism charity was last modified: May 27th, 2019 by Rachel McLaughlinShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window)Tags:CHARITY CYCLEiCAREpat gaynorlast_img
