Kriti Sanon looks like she just returned from the future, which is where she should’ve stayed

first_imgKriti Sanon is one new celebrity who’s been experimenting with her fashion game a little too much. During the promotions of her recently released film, Raabta, Kriti gave us a mixed bag of emotions in the form of the dresses she wore to public events–from blissful to downright weird. So, in a nutshell, we’re still deciphering how this girl plans to plant her fashion roots in the industry. Will she be the embodiment of grunge, thanks to the grunge-y t-shirts she’s been spotted wearing at various occasions or would she be known for hippie, casual dressing–only time shall tell. For now, however, Kriti Sanon looks like she’s just gotten off a time machine, after a long, tiring journey from the future. At an IIFA event in New York, Kriti was spotted with her colleagues from the industry, Katrina Kaif, Salman Khan, Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt.Photo: Yogen ShahAlso read: Kriti Sanon just made her gym clothes seem like a party outfit. Here’s how you can do too  While the others dressed like they belonged in 2017, Kriti seemed a little, well, other-worldly. The shiny blue-silver Amit Aggarwal dress she wore to the event looked like it belong on a sci-fi movie set. The pulled-back, centre-parting hair she decided to sport didn’t exactly help the cause, neither did those long, shiny silver-black earrings.Photo: Yogen Shah We hope your upcoming IIFA looks aren’t as “futuristic”, Kriti!last_img read more

Please ensure that you have all necessary resources available, including but not limited to food, water and medication, shutters and so forth. Remove all debris, and ensure that your property is free from any potential flying objects. Secure important documents and keep important numbers readily available. I once again appeal to you to prepare, because preparing is not an option, it is a must and it is the only thing we can do to reduce the impact of a disaster.”A national address from his desk, using technology to remind the nation that the Disaster Management arm would prefer it if we got ready as readiness reduces risk. The National Hurricane Center has forecast a below normal season with six to 11 named storms predicted. Maybe three to six will become hurricane force and two could evolve to major hurricanes. Already the Atlantic Basin has recorded – pre-season – Tropical Storm Ana; currently the East-Pacific Basin is experiencing Tropical Storm Andres. Despite this forecast, residents do well to remember that it only takes one storm to wreak havoc; last year Tropical Storm Cristobal and his rains in late August shut the country down for two days, caused severe flooding, cut off communities in North and Middle Caicos, waterlogged homes, exposed a series of massive sink holes and led to a fierce spike in Dengue Fever and Chikungunya cases. Celebrating the royal wedding

Celebrating the royal wedding

first_imgOn a bright sunny day, when Prince Henry Charles Albert David of Wales readily accepted Rachel Meghan Markle as his wife, the most iconic wedding of the decade was recorded in the history. Though only selected 600 lucky ones – physically present at the Windsor castle – could become a part of the nuptials, there were thousands who went a step further to enjoy the festivities.K3 at JW Marriott Aerocity was one of the few hotels who crafted a lavish royal wedding feast to give an unforgettable experience to its guests. Before I could savour an array of scrumptious food and assorted desserts illustrating grandeur and opulence, aesthetics of the place caught my attention. Suspending beautiful fabrics and sheer blush drapes fastened with florals, transformed the entire dining zone into a striking setting that radiates royalty. What added to the charisma was the dim lighting, soulful music and the tempting aroma of good food. As a whole, it was nothing less than a treat to your senses. Also Read – Add new books to your shelfMoving on to the dining table, the refreshing watermelon juice gave an amazing start to my evening. It was followed by appetizers; from crumb fried fish that melts in the mouth within seconds to Methi Bhutta, Chicken Munchurian, Kebeb, Tawa Macchi and Paneer Tikka, every offering was a delight. I would happily give an extra point to the hotel service for bearing with my impatient nature, and hence serving the best of desired delicacies within no time. Amidst all of it, I don’t want to forget mentioning the live counter of Bhalla chaat which not only caught my attention but of most of the present guests. Also Read – Over 2 hours screen time daily will make your kids impulsiveStuffing my stomach with all of the aforementioned food and yet another platter of Asian appetizers, I hardly had the urge to dip my spoon in the main course, but on chef’s special request to grab a bite of Lal Ghost, I readily agreed. Perfectly cooked mutton in thick red gravy can be enjoyed with Laccha Paratha or tandoori roti. In either case, the rich flavours of the dish will soothe your taste buds.Despite having all of it, a true Biryani lover like me would still manage to create a little space on the plate as well as the stomach. Indeed, chefs of JW Marriott are very well aware of the choices and demands of their guests and therefore never let them down. It was time to give a happy ending to my meal. I don’t remember the last time when I was so confused about what to eat and what not. Chane ki dal ka halwa, Boondi ke laddu, Imarti, barfi, cupcakes, chocolate balls, fruit custard and what not, you just have to wish for your favourite dessert and it was made available.Even if I try to think of one thing that didn’t go as per my expectations, I would only pressurise my mind. While watching the live streaming of the royal couple taking oaths, I truly enjoyed the royal dinner.last_img read more
