ALL-IRELAND SERIES: LACEY NOW A MAJOR DOUBT FOR CLASH WITH GALWAY AT CROKE PARK

first_imgDonegal manager Rory Gallagher may have to plan without the services of four-time All-Star Karl Lacey for their qualifier clash with Galway at Croke Park.Lacey sustained what the Donegal medical team believe to be a ligament injury in his knee.Lacey was replaced early in the second-half of Donegal’s Ulster SFC final defeat to Monaghan on Sunday after complaining about the injury at half-time. Lacey had been influential early-on in Sunday’s final and scored a fantastic point, but his impact was curbed due to the injury and as a result he was forced off.The Donegal medical staff don’t believe it’s a serious injury Lacey has sustained but think the clash with Galway on August 1st might come too soon for the Four Masters clubman. The fitness of Michael Murphy remains unclear with many feeling the Donegal captain played Sunday’s final injured.Murphy was heavily strapped and was iced continuously during the warm-up. In his column with The Irish Times, Jim McGuinness felt Murphy played the match injured. However, hopefully his injury will clear up in time for Donegal’s crucial clash with Galway at Croke Park.Galway have beaten two Ulster sides in-a-row with great wins over Armagh and Derry and they’ll be buoyed at that going into their clash with Donegal. The winner of that clash will face Mayo in the quarter-finals. ALL-IRELAND SERIES: LACEY NOW A MAJOR DOUBT FOR CLASH WITH GALWAY AT CROKE PARK was last modified: July 23rd, 2015 by Mark ForkerShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:Home-page Sportnewslast_img read more
