Gold Coast home’s industrial coastal style makes it stand out

first_img The owners have blended luxe-industrial and coastal styles to give it it’s special look. An extensive renovation transformed the house into what it is today. They did most of the work themselves to ensure it lived up to the vision they had.“When you’re doing it yourself, you can stop and start and have a look around at the end of the day and move things,” Mrs Anderson said.“I didn’t want that sterile industrial look, I wanted that industrial luxury but still really homey.“It’s got a little slice of our hearts, that’s for sure.”The six-bedroom residence in Claymore Crescent is on a 809sq m waterfront block and spans two levels. The entertainment deck is a standout feature, with highlights including a kitchen servery and a miniature water slide into the pool.“Everyone that comes here is just crazy about the water slide,” Mrs Anderson said. There is also a second deck on the waterfront with access to a pontoon. It was a dated, single-level house before the renovation.More from news02:37International architect Desmond Brooks selling luxury beach villa8 hours ago02:37Gold Coast property: Sovereign Islands mega mansion hits market with $16m price tag1 day ago The makeover was a labour of love for the family.Mrs Anderson had two favourite spots in the house.“The kitchen is where we hang because it’s quite open – that’s the life of the home,” she said.“Apart from that, I just love escaping to the master retreat.”She said it was time for them to sell as it was much too big now their children were starting to move out.“While it’s been perfect, it’s just too big for us now,” she said.“It was really our dream family home. We just need to duplicate it smaller.” MORE NEWS: Looking to buy or sell at auction?
