Another charge stated that on the same day and location the 24-year-old man had in his possession one 9mm pistol without being the licensed firearm holder. In court on Wednesday, Trotman’s lawyer, in his application for bail, submitted to Magistrate Fabayo Azore that his client and several other persons were standing outside a club when someone from inside the club threw the firearm onto the ground. He said that despite this explanation, Trotman was arrested by the Police. However, the Police Prosecutor, in objecting to bail, told the court that Trotman had admitted to having the unlicensed firearm in his possession. In his objection, the Prosecutor cited the seriousness of the charge and nature of the offence. As a result, Magistrate Azore upheld the prosecution’s submission and remanded Trotman to prison. The matter will continue on October 24, 2018.last_img read more
