From 2002 to 2007, he was a trial attorney and then a senior trial attorney with the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in The Hague.Prior to his position at The Hague, Whiting was a prosecutor with the U.S. Department of Justice for 10 years, first with the Criminal Section of the Civil Rights Division in Washington, and then with the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Boston, where he focused on organized crime and corruption cases.Whiting is a co-author, with Antonio Cassese and two others, of “International Criminal Law: Cases and Commentary.” One of his most recent articles is “In International Criminal Prosecutions, Justice Delayed Can be Justice Delivered,” which was published in the Harvard International Law Journal.He attended Yale College and Yale Law School and clerked in the Eastern District of New York for Judge Eugene H.
