DPP recommends no charges against “Alpha Dan”

first_imgLinden taxi driver’s murder probeThe office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has recommended that no charges be laid against 22-year-old Delon Fraser, also known as “Alpha Dan”, who was accused of murdering 24-year-old Linden taxi driver Orlando Flatts, also known as “Orandy” or “Rango” of Blue Berry Hill, Wismar, Linden.The incident occurred at approximately 00:30h on the morning of Friday, February 9 at Lot 74 Amelia’s Ward, Linden; when the deceased, allegedly whilst armed with a piece of metal, violently forced his way into the apartment of his ex-reputed wife and was stabbed once in the left region of his abdomen by Fraser whom the woman now shares a relationship.Fraser, also a local music artiste, received injuries to his left elbow and left palm and was arrested in connection with the incident while the knife and a piece of metal (wheel spanner extension) were retrieved and lodged as evidence.A Police official has confirmed that a file which was prepared and sent to the DPP for advice on the matter has since returned with the no charge recommendation.A neighbour who resides in the lower flat of the home had recalled being awakened by a tumbling noise coming from the upper flat and seeing the accused with a bloody knife in his hand on the morning of the incident.According to the woman, the suspect then stated that a thief had broken into his house and he stabbed him after a scuffle ensued.
